Tech billionaire Elon Musk made a startling statement about his personal safety during his latest appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience. Musk suggested that exposing widespread government corruption could make him a target for assassination.
Musk’s Dire Warning on Government Corruption
During the interview, Musk and Rogan discussed congressional stock trading, a practice that has led to massive wealth gains for politicians with insider knowledge. Many lawmakers, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), have been accused of outperforming the market by trading stocks in industries they regulate.
Musk hinted that the corruption goes far beyond insider trading, stating,
“I mean, this is really going to get me assassinated. I’m not lengthening my lifespan by explaining this stuff.”
He went on to explain that discussing such corruption could make powerful people desperate, adding that he has already faced serious threats on his life, which have increased significantly since he openly supported President Trump.
Musk recounted instances where homicidal individuals targeted him, noting that two would-be attackers were arrested and held in Travis County Jail.
DOGE’s Role in Government Audits and Budget Cuts
As the leader of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk’s team has audited numerous federal agencies, including the Department of Defense, uncovering over $150 billion in potential budget cuts. Many of these cuts involve diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs and left-wing social policies abroad.
DOGE has also pushed for significant cuts to agencies such as the IRS and Department of Education, leading to thousands of federal layoffs.
While DOGE cannot enforce legislation, its recommendations have gained traction in Congress. The Republican-controlled House recently passed a budget resolution authorizing nearly $1 trillion in cuts, many of which align with DOGE’s findings. President Trump has endorsed the resolution, signaling that it may soon become law.
As Musk continues his fight against government inefficiency and corruption, his recent comments raise serious concerns about the potential backlash he could face from entrenched political forces.
