WATCH: Letitia James Loses It Over Trump’s Latest Move During Unhinged Press Conference

New York Attorney General Letitia James is not handling President Donald Trump’s latest move well. After years of pursuing legal action against Trump, she’s now on the receiving end of a major setback—and she’s furious.

James Lashes Out Over Federal Funding Cuts

During a heated press conference, James condemned the Trump administration’s decision to halt federal payments to New York, calling it:

“Unacceptable, unconstitutional, ultra-biased. They have exceeded their authority.”

She argued that state attorneys general have a duty to uphold the rule of law and fired back at Trump’s Treasury Department:

“The Treasury and the President of these United States are not above the law.”

For someone who once positioned herself as Trump’s political adversary, this is a brutal reversal of fortune. Not only has she failed to take him down, but now she faces legal troubles of her own.

DOJ Charges New York Officials Over Immigration Violations

Just two days ago, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that the Department of Justice is suing New York, Governor Kathy Hochul, Letitia James, and DMV Commissioner Mark Schroeder for failing to enforce federal immigration laws.

The lawsuit targets New York’s sanctuary policies, which the DOJ argues put American citizens at risk. Bondi emphasized that the administration is committed to holding state officials accountable for violating federal law.

James Battles Musk’s DOGE Initiative in Court

James’ public meltdown comes just days before a high-stakes court hearing on Friday. Attorneys general from 18 states are suing to block Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from accessing Treasury Department records.

The lawsuit—filed by James and Connecticut Attorney General William Tong—claims that Musk’s agency illegally accessed federal payment systems, exposing Americans’ personal data.

At a press conference, James slammed Musk’s role in the administration, declaring:

“Elon was not voted in by the people. The American people deserve better. We will be in the courthouse time and time again. The American people will not back down.”

Her remarks underscore growing Democratic opposition to Musk’s efforts to cut government waste under Trump’s administration.

Judge Temporarily Blocks Musk’s Initiative

On Friday, U.S. District Judge Jeannette Vargas in Manhattan issued a temporary restraining order, preventing Musk’s agency from accessing key Treasury systems that handle trillions of dollars in payments.

While the judge has yet to make a final ruling, 19 Democratic attorneys general are pushing for a longer-term injunction to stop Musk’s DOGE initiative from expanding its reach.

With multiple legal battles mounting, James is scrambling to keep her cases from falling apart.
